“I see you” project was based in kinetic and also in interaction art with the viewer. Thus, it consists in an installation piece with a face shape that, with the help of the public, move it eyes. The materials used for this work were: wood, card paper, acrylic painting, glue gun, foam and molding mass.

'THE LEARNER' PROJECT
“The learner” project was inspired by Rebecca Horn’s piece “Ballerinas”. I found interesting the idea of connecting two people by thread and make them perform together. Thus, instead of dancing, I would link people so they would draw together.

'EIGHT HANDS DRAWING' PROJECT
In this project, I extended the number of people for four. The work consisted in create a three dimensional drawing by disposing the four people in circle with a model in the center, and make them draw with their right hand theirs perspective. In this way, the drawer should completely abstract himself from the left hand and just concentrate his attention in the right hand.
The final result would then be four worksheets with two drawings in each one of them: one made by the owner’s paper right hand and the other one managed by the other person’s right hand which would constitute two perspectives in just one paper.

Participating on a contest
This is a very well known competition. It is called “The Sardines Contest 2016”. The theme is Lisbon’s popular festivals, but it can also be about something related with Portugal. For this contest, everyone can participate, including under age and foreign people. This year, they received 8867 proposals from 70 countries. The winners of the contest will be announced on the 31st of June of 2016. The first sardine is in honor to one of the most important Portuguese poets - Luís de Camões. On his hand, his holding his famous book of poetry about Portugal’s history. The original name of the book is “Os Lusíadas”, which means “The Portugueses”, but in this case I decide to change the name for “Os Sardinhas” which means - “The Sardines”. The second sardine is inspired on a famous painting of Eugène Delacroix. The title of the painting is “Liberty Leading the People”. With this sardine I appeal to equality, liberty and fraternity. The materials I used for both sardines were watercolors and ink.
Participating on a contest in Italy
Between the 21st and 24th of April, I participated in a competition in Italy, more specifically in Venosa city, Horzio's Flacco hometown. This contest have been happening for a lot of years and it’s about a classic poet - Horazio Flacco. He was known by his excellent poetry being very requisitioned by emperors of his time. This was a dual contest, a latin and an art contest.
In this competition I won a Honorable Mention, corresponding to the second place.
In the art contest, we were given a poem and we were suppose to draw what, in our opinion, was expressed in the text. The poem talks about Flacco’s enormous lover, Nêera. Although it was his life love, it wasn’t corresponded. Being this the case, he wanted to forgot her but, for some reason, her beauty and his passion for her didn’t let that happen. Horazio explained that she was with another man and also that he wanted her to switch him for another man. If that would have happened Flacco would have laughed for not being the only one.
The worksheet format was 50x70 cm, and the technique I used was watercolor.
It was given to the art students six hours to complete our work. This six hours would have to include a descriptive memory explaining what we had done.

DRAW EXPLANATION
My draw was full of symbols. The feminine person represents Nêera and the masculine person the man she was with. About Nêera, I wanted her to represent the beauty ideal, just how Horazio saw her. To achieve that, some characteristics made reference to Venus, the god of love - the long and curly hair and the physical constitution. In her hands she has a “Yin-yang”, the symbol of bad and good connected into one. This is due to the fact of her having an extreme beauty but not loving Horazio. Also, since Nêera is demonstrating being that innocent, she is just that person who let go of all the people who really loved her. The masculine person, doesn’t illustrate nobody in concrete, just the biggest Horazio’s rival. He’s also painted only with black and brown tones due to that factor. Their bodies are deformed and in that positions to show the interconnection between both. And as it is said in the poem, like an ivy that embraces a tree. To conclude, the whole draw is just a representation of Horazio’s view. |
MATERIALS
Old and abandoned houses
Project elaborated to, not only, experiment different techniques and materials but also to watch the different expressions each one can produce. This drawings and paintings were based on images. The materials I used were: graphite, sepia, sanguine, inks, water color and coloring pencils.
HUMAN
So geometrically described, so hard to understand
The human is one of the most wonderful creations in the world. Just the fact that we have the gift of thinking, making, creating, evolute, develop, change, among others is amazing because we definitely created the world and made it in how it is today.
Just think in how we are so geometrically described and so hard to understand. The human, is in fact, something so complex and complicated, but in comparison, so dreamy, wonderful and fascinating. |
HUMAN FACE
Geometry, Symmetry and definition lines
This photoshoot have the finality of exalting the human face geometry, symmetry and his constitutions lines. For that, I painted the models faces with gouache paintings. The makeup used was almost reduced to not cover the main objective.

Drawing the Human Face
The human face is, in fact, the most fascinating part in our body. It always follows some geometric “rules”, but is, in everybody different.
OIL PAINTING ON CANVAS
HUMAN HAND
It is said that our hands can emphasize everything. I’m inclined to believe that we can be very expressive with our hands. For instances, on the Mona Lisa’s piece of art, her hands demonstrate serenity and calm. Another example is just the fact of using hands to talk with deaf people.
Drapery
This is an ordered painting. The material I used was acrylic.
In this poster it is shown a capture of the soldiers taking of the clothes of Jesus before his crucifixion. The size of the poster is 1,5x1,5 meters.

Transformation and simplification
The first one is made with ink and it's about a transformation of an octopus to a bearded man. The second image is a simplification of a bald cat. In the first one I used color pencils (black color) and in the second one ink.
Mona Lisa in one line
This production was elaborated in endings of expressing something in just one line, imitating the wire art.
To this work, I made some researches of another draws exploring the line and sculptures of wire.

Movement with lines
We can be very expressive just with lines. This Draws shows the movement lines can create.
Architecture drawn with line
This drawing shows a study of perspective of architecture without using rules or any measurement material. For this sketch I used ink pen and graphite. The format is A4.
Writing and illustrating a book from scratch
This is a project which predicts a full elaboration of a book for children. I decided to produce a history for deaf children because, in my point of view, there are not a lot of books that are trying to help children who can’t hear watch the world in another perspective.
Therefore, the principal caracter is a deaf child, but contrasting with that, she has big hears. She has an incredible family. They are visibly present in her life and they are constantly trying to show the kid that being a deaf person doesn’t mean that she can’t hear anything, she just need to hear with her heart.

The whole book is shown in the images below. Each image represents two pages which are appointed in the superior sides of the images.
Finished project
This project was ordered by a school. It consists in making illustrations for the application on the bar and stationary computers. The materials I used were watercolors and ink pen.
Tomar city
This is a painting of the S. João Batista church of Tomar city. The material I used was coffee and the worksheet format is A3.
The images in the next page are bookmakers. Each one of them are handmade and the materials that I used the most were watercolor and ink. This bookmakers illustrate important Tomar icons, such as S. João Batista church tower, “Festa dos Tabuleiros”, Chapter House Window and Nabão river.
